SCCM – TASK SEQUENCE FAILS INSTALLING UPDATES

If you use in a task sequence „Install Software Updates“ and you have assigned updates which trigger multiple restarts, your task sequence gets broken.

Cause:
Some Updates initiate multiple restarts. The first restart will be recognized by the task sequence. The second one is unexpected for the task sequence, the sequence fails.

To resolve this issue, apply updates with multiple restarts outside of an task sequence.
